Celebrating love in English, Spanish, and Catalan
Begin the process

Making your dreams come true
It's all very simple. We'll schedule a video call where I get to know you both and your story — how you met, the special moments, as many details as possible — so I can make your ceremony as personal as it can be.
I will then work with all that I've learned to create your special story for your special day.
You'll send me your vows and any readings you'd like to include, and we'll talk through the order of the ceremony together. I can help with these if you need it.
We stay in touch throughout the whole process, and I'm always available for any questions right up until your wedding day.
I understand this is a special day, and I want to make it as personal, smooth, and joyful as possible.
It was simply amazing!! We had so many people come up to us after to say how it was the best ceremony they had ever listened to and we really only have you to thank. I wouldn't have changed anything!!!
Sophie told a beautiful, witty and moving story about us. She captured our slowly developing relationship and how it blossomed during the pandemic, with love, good humour and a dramatic surprise about the role of Elena's cat! She switched effortlessly between English and Spanish enabling all our family and friends to enjoy our story. We would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.
We arrived in Barcelona for our international destination wedding and received some unexpected news which caused a wrinkle in our planning, but Sophie stepped in quickly and flawlessly delivered an amazing and fun ceremony. Looking back, we can't picture our wedding day in Barcelona without Sophie being part of it!

A non-secular person who acts as the Master of Ceremony — pulling the day together to ensure it is joyful, intimate, and memorable.
“As a huge believer in ritual and its importance in marking occasions, I take this responsibility seriously. I strive to bring balance — the gravitas with lightness, the weight of the moment alongside warmth and joy. Not stressful.”
To me, being a Celebrant is about bringing your loved ones together to witness the joining of two lives. A declaration that says: “This is us.”
My priority is a personalised ceremony
My name is Sophie Heydel. I have lived in Barcelona for over 20 years — a city I love passionately.
In the UK, I trained and worked professionally as an actress. Now I run a Theatre-in-Education company here in Catalunya. I am also an international performance storyteller, having performed to audiences large and small, from tiny tots to grown ups.
It is an honour to bring my skills to the celebration of marriage.
My priority is to get to know each couple as well as possible, so that I can truly personalise their ceremony — making it the most sharing, intimate, and joyful event it can be.
